For Australian companies

Hire Indian Developers for Australian Companies

Australia has the third-highest engineering salaries in the world and a structurally tight talent market on the government's own skilled occupation list. Hiring through our Gurgaon office cuts the cost by two thirds, runs in genuine overlap with your workday, and stays clean under Australian Privacy Principles. Here is how.

Why Australian companies hire from India

Australian salaries plus Super plus payroll tax plus structural hiring shortage. The cost-and-supply problem keeps getting worse. India solves both sides. Here are the six concrete reasons that come up in every Australian client call.

Australian dev salaries are the third highest globally

Behind only the US and Switzerland. Combine that with a 11.5% Superannuation Guarantee, payroll tax in most states, and high-cost CBD office rent, and a senior engineer in Sydney is genuinely expensive. Hiring through us drops the total cost to roughly a third for the same role.

Reverse overlap that works in your favour

Australian Eastern Standard Time is 4.5 hours ahead of India. When our team starts work at 11:00 AM IST, it is 3:30 PM in Sydney. So our morning is your afternoon, our afternoon is overnight for you. With one or two engineers on a flexed 7:00 AM IST start, you get full morning-to-end-of-day coverage on the Sydney side.

Australian skills shortage is real and structural

ICT and software roles have been on the Australian Skilled Occupation List for over a decade. The talent shortage is government-acknowledged. Time-to-hire for a senior engineer in Sydney or Melbourne is 4-6 months and growing. We typically place within 7-14 days.

Privacy Act 1988 and APP 8 compliant by design

Australian Privacy Principle 8 governs cross-border disclosure of personal information. We can configure access so Australian customer data never leaves Australian-hosted servers (VDI or bastion access), or we can sign an APP 8 contractual override where you remain accountable. Both models have been used by Australian healthtech and fintech clients we work with.

No PAYG, no Superannuation, no payroll tax

Our engineers are employees of AllDomainSoft.com Pvt. Ltd. in India. You pay an Indian B2B vendor in AUD. No PAYG withholding, no Superannuation, no payroll tax across states, no workers' comp. Your accountant treats the invoice as a foreign supplier expense.

GST-friendly: zero-rated for export of services

Software development services delivered from India to Australia are zero-rated for Indian GST (export of services). Australian GST does not apply because we are a non-resident supplier providing services to an Australian business. Your accountant logs the invoice as a GST-free import.

The numbers, in AUD

Australian salaries are from Hays, SEEK, and Robert Half 2026 data for Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Fully loaded means base salary plus 11.5% Superannuation Guarantee, payroll tax (~4.85% in NSW, varies by state), workers' comp, and a typical benefits load. India numbers are our flat monthly fee converted to AUD at prevailing rates.

Australian time-zone overlap, the honest version

Australia is one of two markets (along with US West Coast) where the time-zone story needs honest framing. The overlap is workable, but it requires intent. Here is what the pattern looks like across Australian zones.

Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane (AEST / AEDT)

Your 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM is our 6:30 AM - 12:00 PM IST

Five and a half hours of overlap if we run our normal hours. One or two engineers flexed to a 7:00 AM IST start gets you full 9-to-5 Sydney coverage. We have run engagements both ways depending on whether the client wants morning standups or end-of-day handoffs.

Perth (AWST)

Your 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM is our 6:30 AM - 1:30 PM IST

Seven hours of overlap. Perth's two-and-a-half hour gap from India is the easiest Australian setup. The engineering team naturally syncs with your full workday with no flexing.

Adelaide (ACST)

Your 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM is our 5:00 AM - 11:30 AM IST

Four and a half hours of overlap on our regular hours. We flex one engineer to a 7:00 AM IST start to cover your morning standup and end-of-day sync. Workable but tighter than the East Coast.

Auckland (NZST, New Zealand)

Your 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM is our 4:00 AM - 8:30 AM IST

Tight. New Zealand and India have one of the largest practical time-zone gaps. For NZ clients we usually run an async-first model with one or two engineers on a 5:00 AM IST shift to cover the overlap window. Doable, but requires upfront commitment to written communication.

Legal, tax, and compliance for Australian clients

The compliance shape for an Australian client engaging an Indian vendor is well-trodden. Here are the four areas your accountant and risk team will care about.

Privacy Act 1988 and APP 8

If your team's work involves personal information about Australians, the Australian Privacy Principles apply. APP 8 specifically governs cross-border disclosure. The cleanest setup is keeping personal data inside Australian-hosted infrastructure (AWS ap-southeast-2, for example) and giving our engineers VDI or bastion access only. We have done this for several Australian fintech and healthtech clients. Alternative: APP 8(2) contractual arrangement where you remain accountable. Both work.

Consumer Data Right and Open Banking

If you operate as an Accredited Data Recipient under the Consumer Data Right (CDR), there are specific requirements for outsourced service providers. We can sign the standard Outsourced Service Provider obligations under the CDR Rules, and we have engineers who have worked on CDR-regulated APIs and dashboards.

GST and tax (foreign B2B services)

Our services are not subject to Australian GST. You are not required to withhold or remit GST on payments to a non-resident supplier providing services to an Australian business. The invoice is treated as a foreign supplier expense. Our Indian tax residency certificate is provided on request.

Modern Slavery Statement reporting

If you are obligated to produce a Modern Slavery Statement (annual revenue above AUD 100M), we will provide our supplier statement: zero forced or child labour, all engineers on legally compliant contracts under Indian labour law (Provident Fund, ESI, gratuity), audit access available. We share this proactively for every engagement that needs it.

Questions from Australian founders and engineering managers

Do you have Australian clients?

Yes. We have multiple Australian clients including in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. We can arrange a reference call after initial qualification. Names are held under NDA.

How do you handle the time-zone gap with Sydney?

Three options. Option A: our regular 11am-8pm IST hours, which gives you 5.5 hours of overlap (your afternoon, our morning). Option B: one engineer per team on a 7am-4pm IST shift, gives you full 9-to-5 Sydney coverage. Option C: fully flexed team to 7am-4pm IST, costs 10% more per engineer because of the shift premium. Most clients pick Option B.

What about engineer visits to Australia?

We have done occasional engineer visits to Sydney and Melbourne for major sprint kickoffs or client events. Australian business visas typically take 4-6 weeks for Indian passport holders. We handle the application process and your invitation letter helps significantly.

Can we pay in AUD?

Yes. We invoice in AUD or USD, your choice. Most Australian clients pay AUD via international bank transfer (ANZ, Westpac, CBA). Settlement usually within a week. No FX risk on your side.

How does annual leave work?

Engineers observe Indian public holidays (10-12 days per year). Annual leave is 20 working days per engineer. We share an annual leave calendar each January. Australian holidays do not apply (engineers continue to work on Australia Day, ANZAC Day, etc.), which means you actually get more total productivity days than a domestic Australian hire.

Is there a minimum engagement size?

Three months is the typical minimum and we recommend at least two engineers for the team dynamic to work. We will work with single-engineer engagements if the case is right, but the economics get more interesting at three or more.

What is the actual onboarding timeline?

Two to three weeks from agreement signing to engineer at the desk. For common stacks (React, Node, Java) we maintain a vetted bench and can compress to 7-10 days. Niche stacks (Elixir, Rust, Salesforce specialist) can take 4-6 weeks.

Can I get engineers with specific Australian compliance experience?

Yes, particularly for CDR, APRA-regulated fintech, and ASIC compliance work. The pool is smaller and the hire takes a couple of weeks longer, but the engineers exist. We have built and placed teams that have shipped CDR data recipient flows and APRA CPS 234 aligned controls.
